Social & Welfare
Charities working in the social and welfare areas, both in the UK and overseas, have long been a key part of Minerva’s fundraising work.
Minerva has enabled a range of social and welfare charities to achieve their aims, expand the scope of the services they offer and reach out to a greater number of beneficiaries.
Encompass

We want to thank you very much for all you have done. You have fundraised a huge amount for the charity, even helping us to reach our goal amount for the building purchase.
Dr Victoria Barber, Chairman of Trustees
Encompass is a registered charity which supports homeless people and those suffering from addiction through the provision of temporary residential accommodation, rehabilitation programmes, and assistance in finding permanent accommodation and jobs.
Minerva worked with Encompass for over 4 years to expand the charity’s fundraising for both core activities and specific projects. The projects included raising funds for the purchase of a property previously leased by Encompass: the purchase was successfully completed in early 2024.
The Skinners’ Almshouse Charity

You took us on a journey for which… we had no experience. We owe you a great debt of thanks for your professionalism, skill, patience and, as the results to date show, for your success on behalf of the campaign.
John Emms, Chairman
The Skinners’ Almshouse Charity has been supporting the vulnerable and disadvantaged elderly in London for over 460 years. This support has been provided principally through two almshouses:
- Percy Bilton Court in Hounslow, which consists of 38 self-contained one-bedroom flats for people over the age of 60 who have housing and financial needs
- Skinners’ Court in Enfield, which has 48 one- and two-bedroom flats with full disability access and bathroom arrangements.
Minerva supported the Charity in a 2-phase refurbishment and modernisation of Percy Bilton Court. The project provided residents with improved access to and within the building, including limited disability access to the first and second floors. In addition, the project offered much better facilities for visiting relatives and friends, with more flexible communal areas.
The social and welfare charities we have worked with cover a broad spectrum and include:
We Are Here To Help
At Minerva we realise the challenges faced by small charities which are suffering financially through the loss of statutory grants or Service Level Agreements and other contracts. We are geared to helping charities in this position to raise the funds they need in the most cost-effective way.
