Contact UsJimmy James
We have always been grateful that we chose Jimmy James as our Fundraiser, his firm but encouraging handling of our Trustees combined with his thorough knowledge of relevant grant making trusts has served us well…in fact he has now been engaged by us again to carry out a Capital Appeal to enable us to own our own centre for autistic children.

At Finchingfield Guildhall Trust we needed £500,000 to complement a Heritage Lottery grant of £1 million to conserve and repair the 15th century Guildhall at Finchingfield. Jimmy came in for a contracted period and set up a volunteer funding organisation. This was a structure that could be carried forward, giving us a team that researched over 300 appropriate trust and grant giving fund makers, resulting in 100 applications and achieving our objective. We found Jimmy to be very personable and reliable to work with.

We engaged Minerva Fundraising because we were impressed by their successful track record in fundraising for churches in the UK and overseas. Despite the daunting task ahead of us, Jimmy James filled us all with enthusiasm and guided us through a wide range of fundraising options. These included grant-making trusts, the Landfill Communities Fund and the National Lottery. His effective fundraising methods helped secure a major Heritage Lottery Fund award and grants from others which included 5-figure sums. As a result, our conservation project is well on the way to completion. We would certainly recommend Minerva to other churches and charities with challenging fundraising problems.

Minerva came to our attention as a result of their work for the Anglican Church in Gibraltar, so we engaged them for fundraising advice. Jimmy James used volunteer team building and encouraging team members’ efforts to identify and approach potential donors. He was particularly helpful as an outsider who could comment and encourage us as we worked through the objectives. The framework of his method served to keep us on track, and his visits enabled us to evaluate our progress, our successes and our shortcomings. Despite the dramatic events of the economic downturn, we were able to complete our ambitious plans.

I would like to thank you for the advice and guidance you have given to the Foundation over the part 15 months, which has done much to bring us to the point at which we can start construction works in October. There is no doubt that we would not have got to this point without your assistance … which has been excellent throughout, we have benefited enormously from the structure and the processes which you have brought to the Campaign.

Jimmy James of Minerva Fundraising has a long association with SERVE and its work for older people and adults with disabilities in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. Our requirements are very varied – ranging from specific projects and equipment needs to increasing our year-on-year fundraising. In all these areas our partnership with Minerva has been most successful. Two recent successes with Minerva Fundraising were raising the funds to open a new Well-being Therapy Centre which was successful in completely refurbishing an existing building and raising the funds to completely refurbish our head-quarters internally and externally. Minerva Fundraising have secured the funds for both these projects. We will continue to work with Minerva Fundraising with future projects.
