Disability
Disability is at the heart of so much of Minerva’s work. We are concerned not just about physical disabilities – but also learning disabilities, which can so often go unnoticed.
We are proud to have enabled a range of disability charities to achieve their fundraising aims and to continue providing key support for those in need.
The Avon Centre

I would like to thank you for your efforts… your advice and input has been much appreciated.
Andrew Manning, Chief Executive
The Avon Riding Centre was founded by Stella Saywell, one of the first physiotherapists that were involved in therapeutic riding even before the formation of the Riding for the Disabled Association in 1969.
For more than 40 years, the Avon RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) Group has provided therapeutic riding for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and impairments, visible and invisible. The Group aims to improve lives by focussing on the health and wellbeing benefits of bringing people and horses together.
Minerva was contracted on a short-term contract to boost the Centre’s funding, and in under 12 months effective research identified new funding opportunities; substantial sums were raised in addition to existing fundraised income; and a strategic plan was put in place for the Centre’s future fundraising needs.
UK Veterans Hearing Foundation

On behalf of the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, we are pleased to recognise Jimmy’s valuable support in our fundraising work.
He has taken a professional and effective approach throughout, offering practical guidance that has helped strengthen our fundraising activity and improve outcomes. Jimmy is a reliable and capable partner who understands our mission and works collaboratively to support our goals.
Our partnership has made a real difference, helping us to better deliver fundraising efforts that support veterans in need of hearing care and assistance.
Chloe Knott, CEO
UKVHF is a registered charity whose aim is to provide appropriate equipment and specialist care for veterans of all 3 services and the Merchant Navy suffering from hearing loss, which is outside the care offered by the NHS. We are the only charity providing this support.
UKVHF is the only charity in the UK that deals specifically with hearing loss for former members of the Services and the Merchant Navy. Its aim is to provide appropriate equipment and specialist care for ex-servicemen and women of all 3 services and the Merchant Navy suffering from hearing loss, which is outside the care offered by the NHS.
In 2020, UKVHF won the Employer Recognition Scheme 2020’s Gold Award; and it received the Community Award at the English Veterans’ Award ceremony in August that year.
Minerva was retained in 2022 on an extended contract to boost UKVHF’s project funding and core income.

We Are Here To Help
At Minerva we realise the challenges faced by small charities which are suffering financially through the loss of statutory grants or Service Level Agreements and other contracts. We are geared to helping charities in this position to raise the funds they need in the most cost-effective way.
