St Peter’s Church, Brackley

St Peter’s Church, Brackley

It is believed that the site at St Peter’s in Brackley has been used for worship since the seventh century.

The oldest parts of the present church are Norman and date from about 1100. The Norman church was in the shape of a cross with transepts to the north and the south of the nave. This was shorter than the present church, which now has a longer nave and chancel.

The Church is Grade 1 listed.

St Peter’s is a welcoming parish church for all ages, committed to following and sharing the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is also an important community asset in Brackley and is the oldest building in the town. In 2023 St Peter’s celebrated its 800th Anniversary and successfully raised over £100,000 towards its capital campaign for major works to the Church and St Peter’s Community Hall.

In 2023 St Peter’s celebrated its 800th Anniversary. Minerva Fundraising Consultancy was retained to advise the Church on a 12-month contract and to help set up the fundraising organisation and facilitate the fundraising campaign for major repair works to the Church and to St Peter’s Community Hall. At the end of the contract over £100,000 had been raised towards the target sum.

Thank you so much for all the ways you have helped us with our 800 Appeal.
The Rev Rich Duncan, Vicar

Encompass is a registered charity which supports homeless people and those suffering from addiction through the provision of temporary residential accommodation, rehabilitation programmes, and assistance in finding permanent accommodation and jobs.

Minerva Fundraising Consultancy worked with Encompass for over 4 years to expand the charity’s fundraising for both core activities and specific projects. The projects included raising funds for the purchase of a property previously leased by Encompass: the purchase was successfully completed in early 2024.

We want to thank you very much for all you have done. You have fundraised a huge amount for the charity, even helping us to reach our goal amount for the building purchase.

medbourne village hall

Medbourne Village Hall

Medbourne Village Hall is an important community hub in the Welland Valley, serving Medbourne and the 5 surrounding villages. The Village Hall Committee identified that their Grade II listed building needed major funding to conserve the heritage aspects; to replace the heating system with more ecologically sound equipment; and to modernise the interior, in particular the kitchen and meeting rooms.

Minerva Fundraising was retained to expand the fundraising campaign. As a result of close partnership working between the Committee and Minerva, Phase 1 of the fundraising campaign has been successfully completed and Phase 2 is well under way.

We appreciate the work you have put in over the last three years. Indeed, we could not have achieved the success we have had without your assistance. I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for all your efforts on our behalf in the extremely difficult circumstances caused by Covid. We have enjoyed working with you.

Carolyn Frostwick, Treasurer

TARGET – Achieved

Minerva Fundraising Consultancy has had a long association with SERVE, dating from the early years of this century. Minerva has successfully partnered SERVE’s Trustees and executive team, and increased income from trusts and foundations year on year.

The pressures of the coronavirus crisis, linked to more recent increases in core running costs, persuaded SERVE’s trustees that a full-time, salaried fundraiser was needed; and this person has now been appointed.

Minerva has met our needs and has successfully raised funds for projects as diverse as capital building improvements, project for both elderly and disabled beneficiaries; and key equipment items we have needed to deliver our services.

funding bid for white mills marina

White Mills Marina

We asked Minerva Fundraising to undertake a complex funding bid to the Rural Payments Agency for a major capital grant from the EAFRD. This involved Minerva not only leading the funding bid, but also working with other agencies we’d involved in the project.

Jimmy brought all the parties involved together and produced the submission, with the result that the funding bid was totally successful. Our capital project has now been completed and provided important new facilities for White Mills Marina.

We’d certainly recommend Minerva to any organisation needing to raise major sums.
