fundraiising for letton hall trust

Letton Hall Trust

Letton Hall Trust is a Christian charity located in Sir John Soane’s first commission, Letton Hall in the Norfolk countryside.

The Trust provides a range of mental, spiritual and physical activities, both residential and on a day visit basis, for Christian and secular groups of all ages.

The Trust retained Minerva on a 2 year contract from 2017 until 2019 to raise funds for disability improvements, Library refurbishment and heritage conservation.

All the disability work and a significant proportion of the heritage project were funded by the end of the contract, with more grants expected in the months following.

funding bid for white mills marina

White Mills Marina

We asked Minerva Fundraising to undertake a complex funding bid to the Rural Payments Agency for a major capital grant from the EAFRD. This involved Minerva not only leading the funding bid, but also working with other agencies we’d involved in the project.

Jimmy brought all the parties involved together and produced the submission, with the result that the funding bid was totally successful. Our capital project has now been completed and provided important new facilities for White Mills Marina.

We’d certainly recommend Minerva to any organisation needing to raise major sums.

Debbie Skinner, Director

Northampton Door-to-Door Service

Northampton Door-to-Door Service provides a range of vital services for the elderly and disabled people living in the Borough of Northampton.

The loss of statutory funding meant that they faced a £22,000 shortfall which they needed to raise by the end of 2015.

Minerva was retained initially to undertake an intensive trust funding campaign in July-August, with a follow-up in September-November.

The £22,000 target was achieved by mid-December, and further grants in the first quarter of 2016 raised this sum to almost £50,000.

St Silas Church – Pentonville

We engaged Minerva Fundraising because we were impressed by their successful track record in fundraising for churches in the UK and overseas.

Despite the daunting task ahead of us, Jimmy James filled us all with enthusiasm and guided us through a wide range of fundraising options. These included grant-making trusts, the Landfill Communities Fund and the National Lottery.

His effective fundraising methods helped secure a major Heritage Lottery Fund award and grants from others which included 5-figure sums. As a result, our conservation project is well on the way to completion.

We would certainly recommend Minerva to other churches and charities with challenging fundraising problems.

TARGET – Achieved

We have always been grateful that we chose Jimmy James as our Fundraiser, his firm but encouraging handling of our Trustees combined with his thorough knowledge of relevant grant making trusts has served us well…in fact he has now been engaged by us again to carry out a Capital Appeal to enable us to own our own centre for autistic children.
